Billboard-charting independent artist Jack Be has officially blown up on TikTok.
After posting a tongue-in-cheek video a week ago, with Jack explaining why he had a verified account on TikTok, the video instantly went viral, turning Jack, and his song ‘Beauty Hurts’ into one of the fastest rising songs, and artists, in TikTok history.
Just one week after the post, Jack gained almost 100,000 followers on his account, and his track was used in over 200,000 TikTok videos, including a video post by Joe Albanese, the 25th most followed account on TikTok with over 26 Million followers.
By Monday, the heads at TikTok’s music team took notice, and had officially playlisted ‘Beauty Hurts’ as one of the top tracks in their ‘Pop’ and ‘Emerging Artists’ playlists on the platform. The track also went on to debut at #49 on Chartmetric's Weekly TikTok sound charts.
“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone sharing my music and supporting my dreams,” says Jack. ”To have so many wonderful people find me at once, and build such a loving community, is a feeling that I can’t put into words. I just want to tell them all: Thank You!”
Jack put his new found fame to good on Monday night, and hosted an hour-long live Charity stream on TikTok, with Jack matching all donations, to the Abandoned Children’s Fund.
